Harmony and peace between Pyrenean nature and contemporary sculpture. This is what the Juberri gardens offer, located in the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria. This small green space, created in 2005 by a family resident in the town, is one of the most original places in the Principality of Andorra. A perfect proposal for art lovers and for all those who have a special sensitivity for the plant world. On this page we explain the most interesting details of these unique gardens. A contrast between parterre and the Pyrenean landscape These contemporary gardens are located at 1,250 meters above sea level, on a slope from where you can enjoy spectacular views of the valley. This panorama allows you to see a classic print of Pyrenean nature that contrasts surprisingly with gardens shaped by the hand of man. This small green space preserves the vegetation and trees typical of the area, and adds French-inspired and geometric spaces in the form of a parterre, where man is the one who controls nature. Waterfalls, hedges and perfectly shaped bushes are some of the elements you can admire here. All this forms a short, but fascinating itinerary, punctuated by contemporary sculptures. The sculptures of these impressive gardens One of the great attractions of the Juberri gardens is, of course, the sculptural decoration, designed in large part by Ángel Calvente. The artistic creations that can be seen are very diverse and animal groups predominate: horses, sheep, elephants and species that come from different latitudes of the world, which enhances the contrast with the rest of the valley. Some sculptures are very realistic representations of specimens of gorilla, panda bear or giraffe, among others, which turn this place into a unique animal park frozen in time. But the best example of how contemporary art can coexist in perfect harmony with nature are the sculptural groups of giant hands that simulate holding some trees in the garden by the trunk, as if it were the subtle stem of a flower. You can also see groups of human statues and even scale models of Andorran churches made of stone. The exact location of the gardens The gardens are located in the Juberri housing estate number 66, less than 5 kilometers from Sant Julià de Lòria. Next door, a couple of steps away, is the church of Sant Esteve de Juberri, a beautiful and humble example of Andorran Romanesque art. The Naturland adventure eco-park is also just a few kilometers away, so the gardens can be an interesting stop on the way to or from this leisure and sports center for the whole family. Some hiking and cycling routes, such as the one that connects this urbanization with the Rabassa forest, pass very close to the gardens. For more information on visit times and prices, visit the Tourist Office of Sant Julià de Lòria, located in Plaça de Laurèdia. Finally, it should be noted that access to the Juberri gardens is free.
